WIP Old Man and the Sea Book Sculpture by wetcanvas WIP Old Man and the Sea Book Sculpture by wetcanvas
I don't usually post book WIPs, but I really like this little guy. He is the old man from "The Fisherman and the Sea". Probably my most detailed person yet. Separate forehead, eyelids, eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, beard, mustache, and of course ears. And that fishing pole was really fun to make. I'm interested to see how the wire and paper look together in the sculpture. More to come...just waiting for the glue to dry...

I'm so glad that you showed us this one. sometimes it is appropriate to show a WIP especially in this case as we get to see him from a different angle.

Yes, that was my concern. You can't really see his detail in the finished project.

Hehe, he's a cutie isn't he? He's one of those pieces that I'm not going to want to sell!

Are you able to duplicate it? You could make little book ends out of this guy, I swear, he's precious.

You know, that's a really good idea! I still have the pages of the book that I didn't use in the sculpture. I'll have to see what I can come up with for some kind of base for him to sit on and keep the books in place.
