Alice peers through the looking glass in this book sculpture. The creatures waiting for her anxiously watch as she slips into their world. Made from a 1930's copy of Through the Looking Glass. All drawings are colored illustrations from the book.
Awesome. I love all the little details, like the drape over the chair and the little vase of flowers on the mantlepiece of the fireplace.
My sis is a Alice maniac.
I'm gonna show her this,
she'd love this. :3
Amazing work !
With the level of difficulty this piece has, how long does it usually take you to make?
Thank you! This one was actually pretty easy! The most difficult parts were getting the measurements for the mirror correct and constructing the chair. Coloring the illustrations was a bit time consuming, but I'd say the total time was only about 10 hours.
Wonderful work as always from you. I simply adore the chair as I know the amount of work that has gone into it. I echo Gryffgirl's comment about the fabric being draped over the chair.
Oh, that darn chair. I had to remake it twice before I could get something that would work. What good is a fire and rocking chair without a nice warm blanket?
I'm glad you kept on trying with the chair. Your hard work certainly paid dividends. Indeed there is only one thing that could make the whole cuddly scenario better and that would be a box of chocolates.
Amazing!...You bring characters and their surroundings to life so beautifully!!
I love the details--especially how the paper is draped on the chair!
