Detail view of Rat and Mole. They're a little hard to see and since that hair took FOREVER I don't feel guilty about publishing twice.
Oh my God, this is just wonderful !! o-o
I never read the books but when i was a kid i was a fan of the stop motion animated series ("El viento en los sauces" in spanish) so i consider this to be in between
That is brilliant! Wow your work is amazing! <3
Adorable!! Love that book. ^^
Rat and Mole! Oh how I loved and love Wind in the Willows!
Thank you! I haven't read it in years but this sculpture got my son interested in it. It our new bedtime story so I've been rediscovering it!
How neat! Have you gotten to Mr. Toad and his motor car?
No, I haven't. This one was a commission so she new exactly what she wanted. I may have to give that a go though. This one was really fun to make and I'd like to do the characters again!
Wowsers. Total love and adoration. My favorite book of almost all time and you did it proud.
this is very astounding! I can hardly imagine how the tree texture is accomplished, maybe a special kind a tool?. This is very nice!
Thank you! I'm glad you like it! No special tool, the bark and the leaves are strips of paper. The strips for the leaves are curled and the bark is just woven together.
This is a wonderful piece of work and is so evocative of the original book. You seem to have captured the two of them so well. I recently re read the book after an absece of many years and it was still able to make me smile.
I'm so glad you think so! I'm rereading it myself. The sculpture got my son interested in the story so we've been reading it together. I caught him acting out the stories with his Batman figures the other day!
That is so cool! What's the book about? Well I guess I could easily look it up, but meh. XD It sounds kinda good though. Is it like one of those old classics or something?
Lovely work! This is one of my favorite childhood books!
You know, I'm not sure that I remember reading this as a child. Besides what we had to read in school, anyway. While I was working on this my son kept sneaking into the room to watch. He normally doesn't care about what I'm making but this time he really was. We ended up reading the stories to him instead of his normal bedtime stories and I have to say, I think I missed out. They're some really great stories - if just a little hard to read! Anyway, I'm glad you liked it!
You always do such beautiful things like these. How do you make these?
Thank you! It really all comes down to basic shapes, just like drawing. Break something down into shapes and then build it back up.
This is.... really amazing
