A pirate ship is fighting the stormy seas and exploding out of the pages! "Kidnapped" by Robert Louise Stevenson was fist published in 1886. The volume altered in this piece is later, around the 1950's. The rough waves are sculpted from the books pages, while the ship (constructed from another book due to the fragility of the "Kidnapped" book's pages) cuts through the pages, making waves of it's own.
This all started with my husband saying, "I'm not sure if you can..." Really, now? Never tell me I can't make something. So, I was up until two last night making this. And guess who got to stay up and help me...
This version is sold, but I do currently have a remake: [link]. My shop: [link]
All those people saying "that poor book" are ridiculous... There are a lot more books where that came from, it's not like it's the last of its kind, jeez! xD I love books, but I don't care that this one is turned into a sculpture. I mean, it's an amazing work of art after all! And people should appreaciate that So... Great job!
Congratulations on your DD!
