Jack and the Beanstalk Book Sculpture by wetcanvas Jack and the Beanstalk Book Sculpture by wetcanvas
Jack climbs the magic beanstalk in this book sculpture. Made from a 1941 copy of "The Story Teller", this sculpture stands over 12" tall. Jack's mother waits below on the farm. Beanstalk and house are wired through the book pages for stability. All illustrations are taken from the book and hand colored. Finished with a UV spray to protect against sun and moisture.

Thank you! I was pleasantly surprised, in the middle of making the beanstalk I was questioning it. The leaves and extra vines really made a difference.

Thank you! Yeah, they're a little smaller than I would have liked but the only way to make them larger would have been to scan and copy. Didn't want to do that and use something that wasn't originally in the book :/

Out of curiosity, is everything you do "cut-and fold", for lack of a better description, or do you use tape or glue to hold some things together?

I never tape, but a lot of things are glued.
