Something made for a contest on DA. I wasn't going to make anything but I managed to get to my favorite second-hand shop today and the shopkeeper, who knows to keep books for me, pulls out a copy of "The Icelandic Fisherman". It was close enough to what I needed to make, so here we are.
Thank you lotsly! I saw your awesome book creation before I had chosen which tale to make my creation for and it kept popping into my head and inspiring me to get off my butt and chose one. So partly thanks to you my work is now entered into April. I cannot believe how upset people can be about making art out of books, I find these sculptures so wonderful that they inspire me to read more. Keep on doing what you do.
Awesome! It was another member on DA that made me decide to finally make a piece too. I probably wouldn't have even looked into the contest without them giving me a heads up. People do get incredibly upset about my medium of choice...I've learned to laugh it off, mostly. I do it for people like you! I've actually had teachers ask to use photos of my work to inspire their students to read. I'm glad I could help, in a way, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

By the way, is he trying to fish for participle phrases?
