"Sculpture"? You took scissors to someone else's art and gutted a book. Where's the sculpture here?
How did you do this??? It's simply amazing!!! @.@ How did you cut the square out of the cover so perfectly?
Thank you! The cover is pretty simple to do, just tedious. I measure out the rectangle. You have to be careful to leave room for the binding and remember that the pages are smaller than the cover. Then just make many, many passes over the rectangle with an exacto knife. And never miss. It doesn't end well, I almost cut my thumb off once :/
love this one. i always had a love for carrolls tales and this 'sculpt' is simply an amazing tribute to his works.
Now that's awesome. I love all of these but this one is pretty cool.
May I borrow this idea? It is simply fantastic and I just love how the picture looks almost framed!
This is lovely! Rackham is one of my favourite illustrators, teamed with one of my favourite books, I'm in love. Strangely it's one of your more simple sculptures, but the way you've made some of the cards pop out, makes it very animated and strong vissually.
Thank you! I was worried that it was too simple, but I love the Rackham illustrations (the originals give me the creeps, honestly) and I wanted to highlight them. Plus, I have been swamped with commissions, which is great, but it was leaving me burnt out. It was nice to do something simple with no expectations!
One day I will definitely commission you.
Wow. I Loooove your book sculptures!
