After drawing "The Artist" I realized how much I miss drawing.  Summer is my slow season for commissions, I only have a few for June-August, so I decided to take on a bit of a side project.

I'm around small children 24 hours a day.  Besides my own son, who is three, I have quite a few mini dance student, nieces, nephews, the list goes on.  I find myself constantly saying things that I never in my life thought would come out of my mouth.  "Stop riding the turtle or we're going home!", "no, pickles do not go there", and my person favorite from a friend "stop licking the cat and get his tail out of your nose!".

So, my idea is to start illustrating these WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!? moments.  Maybe on day compile them into a children's book, who knows?  I'd like to know what ridiculous things have you found yourself saying to the children in your life.  What were the circumstances that made you say it?

I think we could get some really interesting pictures, if not a few good laughs out of this.

Thank you guys, can't wait to hear what you have!

As someone who loves books, your art angers and disgusts me. The pieces are kind of neat, I guess, but you make them out of books, as if there aren't enough OTHER kinds of paper... As if there isn't an entire type of paper MADE FOR shaping into stupid crap.
No, instead of running on talent alone, you decide to mutilate books to make boxy crude little things out of them, that are only worth looking at because they were something else first. Ugh. Get some real media and quit ruining books because you want to distract from your mediocrity.

it's ART. this place is for ART. I would jump for joy if I was a book that was "mutilated" into an incredible piece of art. These books are being made into original pieces of art that carry the story with the construction. You could have a right to be slightly annoyed if Jodi did a Peter Pan book alteration using George Orwell's 1984. Now don't get me wrong, I love books too. I'm reading one right now! Appreciate the art. It's not meaningless.
